Secondary school teachers (particularly those covering A-level modules in US history) are invited to apply for the Barringer/Monticello Teacher Award. A collaboration between BAAS, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (TJF), and the International Center for Jefferson Studies (ICJS), the award provides full funding to attend the Monticello Summer Institute, a week-long immersive, professional development programme that provides educators the opportunity to research and learn at Monticello in Charlottesville, VA. SASA's 5th biennial postgraduate workshop will be held at the University of Edinburgh on February 28th, 2025. Covering topics such as pedagogy practices, alternative careers and the academic job market the workshop hopes to support students studying any aspect of the history, literature and/or culture of the Americas.

The 2025 HOTCUS annual conference will be held at the University of Lancaster, 18-20 June 2025. We are delighted to announce that Professor Andrew Preston (University of Cambridge) will be our keynote speaker. We are now accepting panel and paper proposals, as well as submissions for our PG and ECR Workshop. Proposals for all categories are due March 2, 2025.

The Transatlantic Studies Association (TSA) is now welcoming paper and panel proposals for its 2025 conference, which meets over 14-16 July in Lisbon, Portugal.
